Welcome to The National Aviary in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
An aviary is a building where birds are kept – and they can fly around! At the National Aviary, people can walk through big rooms with exotic birds! Now that’s cool! Even better – there are programs just for kids here!
There are beautiful and colorful birds everywhere!
I pretended I was a great explorer in the jungle discovering ponds and beautiful birds for the first time!
What will you pretend?
The National Aviary is very cool. My lucky humans walked through the different bird habitats over and over again. Boy, I wish dogs were allowed. In any case, it’s Mr. Pish Approved!

You can hike their nature trails or drive their auto route… or both! I couldn’t believe all the wildlife I saw at Sequoyah NWR! There’s lots of water here, which is great for migrating birds and waterfowl!
I saw thousands of snow geese and tons of ducks!
This kingfisher let me take his picture!
I saw a muskrat, but obviously there are beavers here!
I saw hawks and eagles, and even this eagle nesting!
I had a great time exploring at Sequoyah NWR. This was one of the best wildlife stops in my trip. With almost 21,000 acres to explore near where the Arkansas and Canadian Rivers meet – you’re bound to see something! And it’s Mr. Pish Approved!
Over at the farm, I met so many different animals, including goats, sheep, chickens, pigs and even a cat!
And who could forget this handsome fellow?
Of course, there are birds, too!
I must have seen 10 different kinds in the short time I was there.
Aullwood Audubon Center and Farm has walking trails and bird watching, and the Discovery Center is just amazing. I can’t wait to go back! It gets the Mr. Pish Approved Stamp for sure!
